What is this all about?

Eucharistic Adoration

Never heard of Eucharistic Adoration before? Never tried it? That's ok. Everyone is welcome. Christ is the host really and we are His guests. He calls each of us to visit Him! Here's the scoop:

Who: Young adults in their 20-30s, single or married

What: Catholic community centered on Christ

When:

  • EVERY WEDNESDAY @ 7:00PM Maryville University in St. Louis (Huttig Chapel)
  • EVERY THURSDAY @ 7:00PM the Church of St. Bernadette in South County

Where: South/Central St. Louis (& across the country for that matter)

Why: To adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament yielding community with Him & others

Notes from last night.

Those of you who were in attendance at Spirit & Truth South last night were promised links to some documents regarding sacred music. Below I've included links to Musicam Sacram (Instruction on Music in the Liturgy) as well as the Institutio Generalis Missalis Romani (General Instruction of the Roman Missal). I've also included an example or two of what passed for liturgical movement following the council as well as some examples of sacred music for your edification. Without further adieu:

CMAA Sacred Music Colloquium XX: Video

Once again, the folks at Corpus Christi Watershed have put together a video on the CMAA Sacred Music Colloquium. Far from the hour long documentary "Sacred, Beautiful, & Universal," this video is a 6.5 minute glimpse into the week I spent in Pittsburgh, PA.

Enjoy!

CMAA Colloquium XX Recordings [UPDATED 7/5/2010 3:16 am CDT]

PLEASE NOTE: This blog entry will be updated from time to time as more recordings are made available. I will also endeavor to post translations as I am able. For a full selection of recordings, please visit Carl Dierschow's page.

And so it ends...

After mass this morning with Schubert's Mass In G with orchestra, I am checked out, waiting for the taxi and on my way home. Luckily, I've been able to get on an earlier flight so I can surprise my wife (Shhh... don't tell her). In your charity say a prayer that I might catch an even earlier one. See you in St. Louis (via Chicago or Baltimore first, depending on which flight I can get on).
