This Week @ S&T South: Mass, Blessing of Chalk & 12th Night Celebration

Contrary to popular belief, the Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas," does not refer to the twelve days leading up to Christmas, but rather to the twelve days after Christmas. Each of the days has a specific symbolism and the "true love" of the song is not the singer's sweetheart, but rather our Lord, Jesus Christ. To celebrate twelfth night of these 12 Days of Christmas (as well as the coming of Epiphany), Christians have traditionally marked the evening with celebration which we will do at Spirit & Truth.

We will begin our celebration with Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Eric Kunz. Since it won't be Epiphany just yet, Fr. Kunz will offer a Votive Mass of Jesus Christ, Eternal High Priest. Following Mass, Fr. Kunz will give the traditional blessing of chalk and water for Epiphany. We will then head to Feckter Hall for refreshments and a brief lesson on the blessing of chalk and water as well as some Christmas Trivia. We hope to see you there!
